Home Theater Systems - Every Home Should Have It

By Kally Hale

Are you into watching today's hit movies or can you not get enough sports action? If so, a home theater system is going to elevate your TV experience to a new level.

A DVD home theater system has surround sound speakers, a subwoofer, a receiver and an external DVD player, or it is built-in to the receiver.

The receiver works as the amplifier. It sends power to all of the speakers. Much like a car amplifier would for car speakers.

A blu-ray home theater system is identical except for the fact that you will be watching blu-ray movies instead of DVD.

Which one should you consider? A DVD movie will still offer a decently high resolution on any large, flat screen television. DVD movies are also less expensive.

A blu-ray disc is designed to hold much more data. This allows the manufacturer to store the highest quality content onto the disc, resulting in pure, hi-def quality and the ultimate viewing experience.

You can also buy a home theater system without any player whatsoever. This would be perfect if you already have a DVD or blu-ray player.

Do you have any idea about 5.1 Vs. 7.1? A 7.1 system basically just adds another pair of rear speakers.

A five point one channel system has been the standard for roughly two decades. It has a center, two front and two rear speakers.

So why would you need two pairs of surround sound speakers with a 7.1 system? First of all, it is sure to produce better surround sound effects.

Instead of only having rear speakers placed behind the listener, you will now be able to have rear speakers on the right and left sides and also behind you.

If you live in an apartment, a 5.1 system would be ideal. But do not hold back, if you want more speakers, go ahead, buy a 7.1 system. - 40730
