There Is A Lot Of Movie Download Sites Available Now

By Gary Santana

The point behind most movie download sites is to offer free movies to users. That, however, is illegal, because you are essentially stealing something that should be paid for. Not all sites are like this, but most of them are, and the theory behind them is exactly that: free content.

These sites come in two major forms, and one of those forms is streaming. Streaming videos are played directly on the websites themselves and are downloaded at the same time that they are watched. You sacrifice quality for time and storage space on your computer, however. Since the movie is being downloaded while you watch, it takes a powerful computer to use. These sites come in legal forms, though, which is convenient, but that's because of advertisements.

The legal versions are the ones with all the advertisements. And the term "all" refers to the fact that there are, in fact, a great deal of them. Usually, you'll have to watch the video next to five other advertisements on the page. These advertisements also reduce overall video quality and make the movie take that much longer to load because there is usually a lot that your computer has to load, making the requirement on your computers part that much greater.

One of the most popular forms of movie downloading is through files called torrents. These are information files that link your computer to hundreds of others throughout the world and the files they hold. It's typically a slow process, even for fast internet connections, but the end result is a movie file on your computer. You won't be able to watch the movie as readily as if it were streamed, but the quality is more likely to be improved, since less processing power is required by your computer.

To download these torrents, your computer will have to have a torrent "downloader". The torrents themselves are found on websites, but the "downloader" is a program that interprets these files and downloads their contents. The programs require a lot of your computer's processing power and are likely to load your computer with spyware, resulting in hindered overall computer performance.

The illegal methods should be avoided, because of the penalties for using them. Luckily, there are legal methods for downloading movies: sites that are paid for either by membership dues or advertisements. They are more likely to offer better quality movies and (the best part) they're completely legal and the dues that you pay (for the membership sites) aren't all that much in the long run.

Like their illegal cousins, these sites come in streaming and downloading forms. You'll be able to watch these movies directly on their sites or download them onto your computer. The memberships are generally in the form of monthly or yearly dues that you have to pay in return for endless content.

It's no question that movie download sites are incredibly convenient, and the prospect of being free is enticing. Their convenience is worth the investment, but being free is not. Look at it this way: by paying a minute amount of money, you are able to view endless video content as long and often as you want. If you get caught downloading illegally, you'll pay thousands in fines, so it's infinitely more expensive. - 40730
