Look For A Scare In A Real Haunted House Nashville Area

By Nadia Singleton

People love to be scared. The idea of encountering a ghost somewhere is both terrifying and thrilling. This fascination with ghosts extends into creating haunted houses for the holidays. This gives people the scare and thrill they are looking for. But, if you are ever looking for a real life scare, a real haunted house Nashville area, may do the job.

The famous Belmont Mansion Historical Museum has at least one entity reportedly roaming its halls. Located on the Belmont University campus, Adelicia Belmont, the former owner, is said to still be there. Adelicia had a hard life, losing a fiance, two husbands, and six children could be a reason why she cannot rest peacefully. Students, staff, and security cards have made reports of seeing her in an ante-bellum gown. They say she is just floating around; making sure everything is in its place. One guide even reported that she informed him the furniture in one of the rooms was not arranged correctly.

Even after their death, the two daughters of Jacob Schnell are still having a little fun in the Capital Records building. Before this building was erected, a magnificent mansion belonging to the Schnell family stood there. Footsteps can be been heard in the hall when the place is empty, doors open and close on their own, and things seem to disappear and reappear in the oddest places. The two ghostly sisters seem to also enjoy playing with the electrical gadgets and equipment found there.

It was once a factory, a distillery, and several types of taverns before it became the Market Street Brewery. And, with its long past, an unknown entity seems to have taken a liking to the place. Although they say this ghost behaves himself during the day, he does make his presence known. He or she enjoys pushing chairs across the floor in the dining room and making the lights swing. The entity also seems to enjoy turning lights off, but mysteriously they will turn back on when asked. During the night, when the customers leave, the atmosphere changes to an uncomfortable and eerie feeling, as if someone is watching you.

It seems that President Andrew Jackson has not been able to let go of his old home, the Hermitage. There have been many reports of not only him, but also some of the past servants and slaves, perhaps even his wife. President Jackson once made his presence known in the middle of the night to some women by rudely awakening them by riding his horse up and down the main staircase. The sounds of chains being dragged across the porch and loud noises in the kitchen have also been reported. Even today, people report-seeing apparitions of slaves on the balcony where President Jackson's room once was.

Fighting and arguing is normal at the State Capitol, apparently it has always been like that according to the two entities that are still hanging around, arguing themselves. William Strickland was the architect for the building and Samuel Morgan the head of the Capitol Commission, and it has been reported they argued fiercely when alive. On quiet nights, their arguing is still be by the officers patrolling the grounds. Of course, when they go to inspect things, nothing is ever found. Apparently, the two ghost have no tolerance for disrespect either, people caught with their feet on the couches have heard a voice come out of nowhere, telling them to remove their feet.

Anyone on the lookout for a ghostly adventure and perhaps a face-to-face encounter just may find one in one of these places mentioned. There is no need to visit a fake haunted house with so many choices of real hauntings available. The only problem one may have is choosing which haunted house Nashville area to visit first.
